Weekly Challenge - Photos of People Taking Pictures

Parker (my 3 year old son) always grabs for anything camera like when I have my camera. Today I had my camera bag out and he grabbed this cool camera shaped kaleidoscope that I keep in there. He smiled and yelled "Mommy say cheeeeeeeeese!!"

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Ok, so it was second place "WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER" but still :-)

So excited that my piano picture was selected as the Second Place Winner for the "Our Reflecion Weekly Photo Challenge"! The theme was "Broken" and my abandoned piano photo breaks my heart. As someone who has spent years taking lessons, I ache to play the mangled keys.

Thanks "Our Reflection"! Check out the blog here!

My Life Is Perfect

My Life Is Perfect.

I cheated. When I first started dating my husband, I had a 7-year old son, Joseph. I saw the way he treated my son and knew he would be an incredible dad. It was sort of like being able to look into a crystal ball into the future.
Fast foward 7 years and now he is also a father to two of his "own" sons. Moments like these, when I walk past their room and see him reading to the boys, my heart just melts. I try not to be jealous that I didn't get to the story first, and appreciate that he is a hands on dad.
When I showed my husband this picture, I expected him to like it, after all I loved it. But when he told me the only thing missing was Joe (my now 14 year old) in it, I feel so lucky that this crazy adorable man came into our lives. This man that treated my son like his own, yet respected the fact that Joseph HAS a dad and didn't try to get in the way of that. I am glad I could see ahead to the future. I am totally blessed.

"Water For Elephants"

I just finished the book "Water For Elephants" by Sara Gruen.  It's definately a must read.  The book is about an elderly gentleman named Jacob who looks back on his life as a veterinarian in the circus and his love for Marlena, and Rosie (the elephant).  The book was AMAZING and I am so excited about the movie coming out in April!!

My photo group "111 Pics in 2011" had "book" as a theme so here was my book pic!!

Happy reading!!
