Trying out the Canon 24-70

A few weeks ago I sent in my camera and lens in for repair.  It was a new issue with the lens, but not with the camera.  I was excited to see the box from UPS that meant my equipment was back, but much to my dismay, the lens was not in the box.  It is a long complicated story, but in short my lens was "misplaced" when it arrived at the repair facility.  As a mommarazzi, I am never without my camera.  It was already a hard 10 days without my camera.  I decided to rent a lens that I had always admired to turn this horrible situation around. As with previous rentals, I checked out http://www.borrowlenses.com/.  I ended up renting a Canon 24-70.  The thing is a MONSTER!  I think it should come with asprin since I wasn't used to how heavy and bulky the darn thing would be!!!  I am still not sure how I feel about the lens even after a week of shooting with it.  I am not in the market for a new lens though (luckily my 28-135 was found), so I guess I have some time to decide!!

I do have to admit that I did get my new favorite pic of Parker with it though :-)

Jumping In To The Blogging World

There.  I did it.  I jumped into the blogging world!  I will be the first to admit that I am a stalker.  I want to know what is happening in everyone's life.  I check Facebook 9,000 times a day.  Recently I started reading all of the  wonderful blogs that my friends write and I think "I have Facebook.  Why should I blog?"  That being said, I am going to use this as an outlet to my world as a mommy, wife, and photographer.  A place where I can look back on things that happened and smile (or laugh or cry).
